Reach the end of the levels before either your light source runs out or you're overwhelmed by monsters. Don't feel bad if you can't beat the later levels, I made them nearly impossible on purpose because I didn't have time to make a lot of levels so I just made the ones near the end harder as to make the game last longer.

Nice game, it has a lot of potential, the only thing that really bugged me was that sometimes some events would happens out of the player control. Let me explain the life (light) randomly droping to 0 at a very fast rate without explanation, random stuck glitch that doesn't feel intended since you cant wall jump and the fact that you have to spam mouse click to kill those boxes is annoying when you keep dying. A simple remedy would be to add a cooldown with a hold mousekey for shooting.

Thanks for playing it!

Yeah that's true the boxes had too much health, too much shooting. The light is supposed to drop faster and faster and faster once it gets really low, or else you can't see anything anyway cause the point of light is so small. And yeah I tried to fix that sticking to the wall thing but decided to forget about it and get some sleep instead lol

Really cool! The game stuck with the theme of black and white, and by using light as your life, it really showed that you understood the theme. The starting screen really  set the eerie atmosphere for the rest of the game. I enjoyed the 12 levels, and believe that would be enough considering the difficulty of the game, however the placement of enemies could be done a lot better. As seen in level 10,  it seemed pretty impossible to do legitimately. Some more UI elements should have been used to tell the player on their whereabouts in the game, and maybe the time that has been played. Except for those the game was great!

Thanks! Yeah I started realizing that the platforming was more fun than shooting the "monsters" so I wasn't adding enough and then I kind of realized I had barely added any monsters and then was like OK, level 10's gotta be the monster level lol.

I really liked this game.  The artstyle was simple but I loved how the spikes looked(they changed with the camera). I am proud of winning this game but I would like even more levels. Although 12 levels are more than enough for a gamejam this size.

Things you could improve:

Not sticking to the walls(or keep it if it was intended)

More levels(especially levels like the one with rings, that one was awesome)

Levelcounter and a system so the levels are saved when you exit the game and start it up again.

Some screen at the end when you win with score. If you do this I am going to try to beat your high score.

Sometimes I touched a spike and flew away, that should be fixed.

Maybe have a harder mode where you have limited ammo.
